1. Overview
This policy explains what information the Lattice Chrome extension (“Lattice”, “the extension”) collects, how that information is used, and how it is retained. Lattice is a personal dashboard for Amazon Vine reviewers. It runs entirely in your browser and is an independent project, not affiliated with Amazon.com, Inc. or Google LLC.
2. Data We Collect (none leaves your device by default)
By default, all processing happens locally in your browser. Lattice does not operate a backend server and does not transmit your Vine data to the developer or to third parties.
Within your browser, Lattice works with:
- Amazon order and review details that are available to you through the Amazon Vine program.
- Derived values such as estimated taxable value (ETV), estimated taxes, and various statistics.
- Extension settings and preferences, including visual themes and feature toggles.
3. Optional Google Drive Sync
Lattice includes an optional feature to sync a backup of your data to your own Google Drive account. If you enable this feature:
- The extension prepares the same backup JSON that is used for manual exports and uploads that JSON file to Google Drive.
-
Lattice uses the Google Drive API with the
drive.filescope, which allows it to create and manage only the files it created or that you explicitly open with Lattice. It does not read or modify other files in your Drive. - The backup remains in your Google Drive account and is not sent anywhere else. The developer does not have access to your backup files.
- OAuth access tokens used for Google Drive are stored only in your browser’s storage (for example, Chrome extension storage) and are used solely to upload, list, and update Lattice backup files.
Your Google account credentials are never seen by Lattice. Authentication is handled entirely by Google’s OAuth flow, and you can revoke access at any time from your Google Account security settings.
4. How We Use the Data
Lattice uses your data only to provide features inside the extension:
- Display and filter your orders, reviews, and tax estimates in the dashboard.
- Calculate statistics, charts, and task lists based on the data stored locally.
- Generate backup JSON files for manual download or Google Drive sync, if you choose to enable it.
Lattice does not:
- Send your Vine data to any external server controlled by the developer.
- Sell or share your data with advertisers or analytics vendors.
- Track your browsing activity outside of the Amazon and Amazon Vine pages the extension is designed to read.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
- Local browser storage – Data is stored only in your browser’s local extension storage on the device where Lattice is installed. It remains there until you clear it from within Lattice, clear your browser/extension data, or uninstall the extension.
- Google Drive backups – If enabled, backups remain in your Google Drive account until you delete them. You can also disconnect Drive sync from within Lattice or by revoking the extension’s access in your Google account.
- Manual control – You can export, import, or delete your stored data at any time using the backup and reset options in the extension.
6. Third-Party Services
Lattice relies on a few third-party services and libraries:
- Amazon and Amazon Vine – The extension reads data from Amazon pages you already have access to. Your use of Amazon services is governed by Amazon’s terms and privacy policies.
- Google OAuth and Google Drive – Used only if you enable Drive sync. Your use of Google services is governed by Google’s terms and privacy policies.
-
Open-source libraries – Lattice uses libraries such as Chart.js, Linkedom, Inter,
and JSZip under their respective open-source licenses. A list of libraries and license information is
available in the project’s third-party license file (for example,
THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES.mdin the source repository or extension package).
7. Children’s Privacy
Lattice is intended for adults participating in the Amazon Vine program. It is not designed for, or directed to, children under the age of 13. If you are under 13, do not use this extension.
8. Security
Lattice works as a local browser extension and does not operate a central server. Standard browser sandboxing and Google’s OAuth infrastructure are relied upon to protect your data. No software is perfectly secure, so you should only use Lattice on devices and browsers you trust and keep them updated.
9. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. When changes are made, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised. Major changes may also be described in the extension’s changelog or release notes.
